The difference between an ESG consultant and an ESG forensic expert is not technical – it determines whether the evidentiary structure will withstand not only an audit, but also administrative or criminal proceedings.
ESG/CSRD forensic expertise is grounded in criminal forensic practice. Every ESG data point is treated as potential evidence – from origin to disclosure. This is an approach that standard ESG consulting does not apply and cannot apply.
What this service includes:
Diagnosis – assessment of the company’s existing ESG evidence architecture against forensic standards of proof. Identification of legal gaps between source data and final ESG claims.
Implementation – introduction of forensic standards of proof into the company’s ESG data architecture. The application of the PROOFA™ Global Defensibility Suite in client work requires an Advisory – Professional Services License.
Expert Opinion – legal-forensic opinion on the state of ESG evidence architecture for the purposes of auditors, regulators, or courts.
Representation – legal defense in proceedings related to ESG reporting: regulatory proceedings, audit qualifications, contractual disputes with EU partners, exposure of board members under Article 33 of Directive 2013/34/EU.
Consultation – one-time or ongoing legal support in the field of CSRD/CSDDD compliance, Double Materiality Assessment, and audit readiness.
